The 2015 Migrant and Settlement Awards were held on Tuesday 18th August in Canberra. 21 people and migrant groups from around Australia were nominated for their work in helping migrants and refugees.
The ACT Women's Centre received an award for helping women from different cultural and language backgrounds. The Islamic Women's Association was awarded for helping women take control over their lives. Also an Australian Football League (AFL) manager was recognised for teaching and advising youth.
